Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum

Rocky Ridge Farm..."where the Little House books were written."

The annual Wilder Day Festival will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2008. There will be entertainment on the grounds of the historic farmhouse throughout the day on Saturday, including a musical performance on Pa's "dear old fiddle." The gates open at 9am. This is the one time of the year that visitors are allowed to see the upstairs guest bedroom of the historic farmhouse on Rocky Ridge. This year would be a wonderful time to visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home!

Activities in town begin Friday evening, and continue on Sunday. Details to be announced. In the past there have been games for children on Saturday morning, followed by the Little Laura and Farmer Boy Costume Contests, but it is my understanding that this year they will conduct the contests first followed by the games for children on the town square. The Ozark Mountain Players will have a matinee performance of "Laura's Memories" at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, with the final 2009 performance at 8:00pm in the Recreational Park.
